About The Position

Comfort Systems USA Southwest is seeking an experienced sheet metal professional for a role involving ductwork detailing, coordination, installation oversight, and quality and safety inspections. The position requires commercial industry experience and knowledge of ductwork construction methods, local building codes, safety requirements, shop fabrication, and interpreting blueprints. The posting also refers to the role as Sheet Metal Foreman.

Requirements

At least five years of commercial experience in the industry.
Experience with TDF, Pittsburgh and snap lock construction, TDC, Duct mate, 22mm, 35mm, S & D, Spiral, Duct Board Fiberglass, and FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic ductwork).
Extensive knowledge of local building codes.
Basic understanding of OSHA and ADOSH safety requirements as outlined in company policy.
Familiarity with shop equipment, basic shop layout, and fabrication principles.
Proficiency in duct system layout from blueprints and elevation setting.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background checks is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Plan and pre-plan work efficiently and ensure it is executed carefully.
Oversee the duct detailing function, including ordering, coordinating, and inspecting materials for accuracy and completeness to meet project timelines.
Coordinate ductwork with other trades and schedule subcontractors and equipment deliveries.
Supervise installation of ductwork, accessories, equipment, and related materials, setting daily and weekly installation goals.
Conduct daily inspections for installation quality and safety, and enforce quality standards and code compliance.
Inspect assemblies and installations to ensure they conform to specifications and SMACNA requirements.
