About The Position

Get hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment. This internship puts you on the shop floor—not behind a desk. You’ll support production while learning fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes alongside experienced team members to learn how raw materials become finished products.

Requirements

• Interest in manufacturing or fabrication
• Basic mechanical aptitude + willingness to learn
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Must meet ITAR U.S. Person requirements – Prototek maintains International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliant operations in United States based facilities. This position is subject to ITAR which requires U.S. Person status. ITAR defines U.S. Person as U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals granted refugee or asylee status.

• Pursuing manufacturing, engineering, or trade training (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Support laser cutting, forming, and fabrication operations
• Assist with assembly, hardware insertion, and fastening
• Finishing techniques (grinding, sanding, polishing)
• Blueprint reading and quality inspection basics
• Help move and organize materials and parts
• Conduct basic visual inspections for quality
• Assist with packaging and production flow
