About The Position

RQ Construction is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Installers for future opportunities with their Mechanical team in Jacksonville, Florida, and surrounding areas. This posting is intended to identify qualified individuals for upcoming work rather than an immediate opening. They will contact qualified applicants when a suitable position becomes available and project staffing needs are confirmed. Anticipated work locations include Jacksonville, Florida; Kings Bay, Georgia; and surrounding areas. All work is performed on military installations, with compensation provided in accordance with the applicable Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements for each base and project. In this role, Sheet Metal Workers/Installers will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing duct systems, HVAC components, and air distribution equipment on commercial construction projects. Duties include reading and interpreting project specifications, ensuring installations meet applicable codes and quality standards, and applying mechanical and trade knowledge in the field. Employees are expected to safely use hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and other specialized equipment while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and supporting RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of four years of experience in sheet metal commercial construction or facility operations
  • Experience at the journeyman level preferred
  • Previous experience on military, government, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction projects preferred
  • Provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
