About The Position

RQ Construction is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Workers/Installers to join its Mechanical team for upcoming work in Jacksonville, Florida and the surrounding areas. This position is part of our talent pipeline, and we are seeking individuals interested in future opportunities to join the RQ team. Projects are located in Jacksonville, Florida, Kings Bay, Georgia, and the surrounding areas. All work is performed on a military installation and is compensated in accordance with the required Davis-Bacon prevailing wage specific to the base. Sheet Metal Workers/Installers will handle the fabrication and installation of ductwork, air distribution systems, and HVAC equipment on active construction sites. Responsibilities include ensuring all work complies with applicable codes and involves the practical application of mechanical principles. Work must be completed using proper tools, equipment, and safety procedures in alignment with RQ's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
At least 4 years of journey-level sheet metal experience in commercial construction or facility operations
Evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire
Successfully pass a drug screening
Successfully pass a commercial criminal background check
Successfully pass a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for)

Nice To Haves

Experience with government, military, large commercial, or industrial construction projects is a plus
