About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Forming Technician to support precision metal fabrication operations. This role focuses on the setup, programming, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC press brake equipment used to manufacture high-quality sheet metal components. The successful candidate will possess strong fabrication experience, the ability to interpret engineering documentation, and a commitment to producing accurate parts while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC press brake equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials, including: Galvanized steel, Stainless steel, Aluminum
  • Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid mathematical skills related to fabrication and manufacturing.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working in manufacturing environments that may experience varying temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with graphical CNC control interfaces.
  • Previous manual press brake operating experience.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of situational awareness and attention to detail.
  • Experience with the following equipment is highly desirable: Amada HG1003 ATC Press Brake (100 Metric Ton, 3 Meter), Amada HG1303-M30 Press Brake (143 Ton), Amada HD1003 ATC Press Brake, Amada HDS-8025 NT CNC Press Brake

Responsibilities

  • Prepare press brake equipment for production by selecting tooling, loading programs, and completing machine setups.
  • Retrieve, upload, and modify CNC programs through machine interfaces as required.
  • Configure tooling and die combinations based on material type, thickness, and finished part requirements.
  • Produce formed metal components according to engineering specifications and quality requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, bend schedules, technical drawings, and fabrication instructions.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Verify machine setup and calibration before and during production runs.
  • Diagnose and resolve forming challenges related to material characteristics, spring-back, tooling wear, and setup conditions.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of press brake equipment and tooling.
  • Accurately document production data, setup information, material usage, and completed quantities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Exercise independent judgment when making setup adjustments and quality-related decisions.
