About The Position

VMG is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Foreman to lead commercial HVAC ductwork installations throughout the DMV region. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for directing field crews, planning daily work, coordinating labor and materials, and ensuring installations are completed safely, accurately, and according to schedule. The ideal candidate is an experienced sheet metal professional who leads from the front, communicates clearly, and knows how to keep a crew productive while maintaining high standards for safety and workmanship.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial sheet metal or ductwork-installation experience
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and leading field crews
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and ductwork installation
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Experience planning labor, materials, tools, and daily field activities
  • Strong problem-solving and on-site decision-making abilities
  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and time-management skills
  • Close attention to workmanship, safety, schedules, and project details
  • Current OSHA 10 certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to travel to active project sites throughout the DMV region

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial HVAC ductwork installations from daily planning through completion
  • Assign work, communicate expectations, and monitor crew productivity
  • Provide field guidance, coaching, and training to mechanics and helpers
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional conduct
  • Coordinate daily activities with project leadership and other trades
  • Maintain clear communication with crew members, clients, and project teams
  • Plan labor, materials, tools, equipment, and access needs for upcoming work
  • Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and installation requirements
  • Identify field conflicts and develop practical solutions
  • Track daily progress and adjust crew assignments to maintain production goals
  • Communicate material needs, schedule concerns, and project challenges promptly
  • Support inspections, testing, punch-list completion, and project closeout
  • Monitor installations for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements
  • Enforce VMG safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
  • Conduct or support daily safety discussions and pre-task planning
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions and work practices
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Ensure tools, lifts, and equipment are operated safely
