About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating various fabrication equipment, including turrets, punching machines, presses, press brakes, lasers, shears, spot welders, and pemnutters. The position requires effective teamwork, communication, and a willingness to cross-train within the department and potentially other areas of Mechanical Components. The job also entails regular quality inspections, material ordering, and order scheduling. Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with minimal training is essential, as is a proven track record of customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Ability to set up and run turrets, punching machines, presses, press brakes, lasers, shears, and pemnutters.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
  • Team player, self-starter, safety conscious, good communication skills, innovative, mechanically inclined.
  • Understand and be responsible for material ordering and scheduling of orders.
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-pace work environment with minimal training.
  • Proven track record of customer service skills.
  • At least 2 years of sheet metal experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good eyesight and hand dexterity.
  • Willingness to cross-train.
  • 1 year of mechanics and electronics experience.
  • Ability to comprehend assembly drawings and bills of material.
  • Ability to follow set-up directions, and understand product specifications.
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours a day and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Overtime will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run turrets, punching machines, presses, press brakes, lasers, shears, spot welders, pemnutters, or any other equipment within the department.
  • Work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Cross-train in all areas of the department on a regular basis.
  • Perform regular inspection of production to ensure quality.
  • Cross-train within other areas of Mechanical Components.
  • Read blueprints and use measuring tools.
  • Order materials and schedule orders.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced work environment with minimal training.
  • Provide customer service.
