Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a sheet metal shop environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Proven experience in flat sheet layout and installation.
  • Strong math skills and the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and tools up to 50 lbs and comfort working at heights.
  • Knowledge of building codes relevant to sheet metal products.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Driver's License and experience maneuvering trailers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products such as flashing, fascia, standing seam, soffit, gutters, and downspouts.
  • Perform work in both the shop environment and in the field at construction sites.
  • Utilize and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine fabrication and installation requirements.
  • Measure, mark dimensions, and layout material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators, and squares.
  • Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites using specialized tools like shears, hammers, punches, and drills.
  • Fasten seams and joints together to assemble components into finished products or to repair existing items.
  • Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file, and grind metal surfaces to ensure safety and a seamless appearance.
  • Identify and correct design issues that may affect the quality or strength of the final product.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair sheet metal machines including Roll Formers, Folding Machines, and Sheers.
  • Develop plans to solve technical problems and provide input to management regarding team performance.
  • Aid in tracking all components of a job from start to finish to meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead by example and treat others with dignity and professionalism.
  • Willingness to visit job sites for installation assistance and field measurements.
