About The Position

The Sheet Metal Worker works within the Sheet Metal fabrication shop. Operating hand and CNC machinery to cut and form precision parts and assemblies.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of prior Sheet Metal or relevant experience.
  • Previous operation of Fiber laser, Waterjet, Punch or Press Brake
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic knowledge of shop machinery, hand and power tools.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to work within a small, motivated team.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (i.e.: calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.).
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift minimum.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Operation of CNC cutting machinery, i.e. Punch Press, Fiber Laser, Omax Water jet
  • Deburring, drilling, and sanding of parts produced
  • Loading/unloading material from machines and material racks
  • Operation of Press Brake to form complex assemblies
  • Interpretation of drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of products
  • Coordinating daily work with direct supervisor.
  • Inspection of completed work for quality standards and GDIT conformance requirements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and upkeep to machine and workstation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
