About The Position

Plans, estimates, and designs construction sheet metal projects. Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specifications. Demonstrated leadership ability to coordinate a team to develop an estimate. Determine labor and equipment costs. Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing. Understand project logistics and project schedule. Understand all bid documents and assess project risks. Review quotes and estimates with the project team. Prepare estimates and different levels of completion (conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.). Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineers. Serve as company interface between owner & architect. Responsible for developing leadership motivation, and communication with owners, subs and project team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED), plus five years experience in related field and/or Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Working on projects ranging from one hundred thousand to five million dollars
  • Advanced computer skills with estimating software
  • Self-directed, self-reliant and resourceful
  • Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
  • Understanding of sheet metal, duct work and misc. metal concepts
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to use Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Solid Works and other mechanical drawing programs
