Boeing Defense is looking for a Sheet Metal Assembler A to support the Ridley Park, PA location. This is an hourly position governed by the UAW Collective Bargaining agreement. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) years of aircraft sheet metal assembly experience or equivalent
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft sheet metal assembly experience or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal or written instructions

Responsibilities

  • Assemble sheet metal components and sub-assemblies.
  • Build airframe sections by assembling and installing sheet metal or other material parts and assemblies.
  • Determine installation, sequence, and assembly methods.
  • Perform layout procedures to determine any location, which are not otherwise identified, for a variety of airframe structures.
  • Build initial assembly; utilize new tooling to prove assembly or installation procedures.
  • Align and splice the major sections of the airframe and line ream mating holes as required.
  • Align, install, and check all airframe accessories, structural parts and assemblies.
  • Review completed work for accuracy and perform rework and/or repair as required.
  • Apply sealing compounds in specified portions of the aircraft structure or its sub-assemblies.
  • Assist in the pressure or vacuum testing of sealants.
  • Use all tools, materials, equipment, and instruments necessary in the performance of the work of this classification.
  • Perform work in accordance with oral or written instructions and in conformance with Company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping practice.
  • Provide instruction and training to employees designated to assist with the above duties.
