Responsibilities
- Operates hydraulic or power shears/saws to cut materials to precise dimensions.
- Sets up machine stops, gauges, and blades, adjusting the rake (angle) and pressure for optimal cuts.
- Lifts, positions, and aligns materials (metal plates, sheets, bars) manually or using overhead cranes.
- Inspects finished workpieces for accuracy, checking for compliance with blueprints or work orders.
- Performs routine maintenance (e.g., lubricating, sharpening blades) and adheres to safety regulations, including wearing protective gear.
