We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized colleague who will provide leadership and guidance to ensure compliance to government regulations on safety, health and the environment as well as adherence to allnex’s SHE policies and standards including all security procedures. allnex is a global team of passionate people who care deeply about the chemistry, quality, and global impact of coatings. Requirements

  • 5-7 years of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) experience within a manufacturing environment; experience in chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local SHE regulations, including environmental permitting and reporting requirements.
  • Experience interacting with auditors, regulatory agencies, and government officials, as well as managing regulatory inspections and compliance activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience driving site-wide SHE programs and cross-functional initiatives, including Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience delivering safety training and promoting a strong safety culture across all levels of a manufacturing organization.
  • Proven ability to assess operational risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support emergency response activities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and provide SHE leadership in a site-based role without direct reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
  • Required certifications, licenses, or credentials necessary to serve as the site's SHE Leader in accordance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Working knowledge of environmental compliance programs, reporting requirements, and permit management.
  • Availability to travel occasionally, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all site Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) initiatives within the chemical manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as allnex SHE policies and standards.
  • Continuously monitor and interpret evolving laws, regulations, and industry requirements to advise leadership on necessary changes. Maintain the EHS calendar, meet all regulatory deadlines, and prepare and submit required reports (e.g., MON, LDAR).
  • Assess the site's risk profile and recommend programs, actions, and investments. Oversee SHE Management System certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, RCMS), ensuring compliance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Champion a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility across the site. Deliver SHE training, lead Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, and collaborate with all levels of the organization to address potential and existing compliance issues.
  • Serve as the primary site contact for emergency response, including spills, fires, and injuries. Develop and maintain the occupational health program in partnership with medical providers, ensuring employee well-being and compliance with applicable health standards.
  • Participate in and lead Hazard Evaluation Lab analyses to determine safe operating limits. Regularly review and enhance SHE programs and practices to support compliance with the company's Safety, Health, Environment, and Energy policies.
  • Strengthen workplace safety and compliance by reducing slip, trip, and fall incidents; implementing 5S, SHAPE, and Clean Floor initiatives; and delivering operator PPE and splash-prevention training. Serve as a Visible Site Leadership (VSL) champion under the current safety campaign, oversee raw material handling through a risk-based approach, and drive the site's risk reduction strategy.
