About The Position

The SharePoint Solutions Designer will serve in a 6-month full-time limited term role supporting the Volunteer Experience teams. This role will assess current SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, reports, and workflows; improve data structure and integrity; develop reporting solutions; and optimize workflow automation to improve efficiency, visibility, and user experience. The ideal candidate is both analytical and hands-on, capable of conducting discovery work while delivering practical, scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years SharePoint design/development experience
  • Strong experience with SharePoint Online in a Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Proficiency in Power BI development.
  • Experience building Power BI reports using SharePoint lists, Microsoft Lists, Excel, Dataverse, or other Microsoft 365 data sources.
  • Experience with Power Automate workflow design.
  • Experience with data structure design and cleanup initiatives.
  • Experience with Microsoft Lists and SharePoint list architecture.
  • Experience with Power Query and basic data modeling concepts.
  • Ability to conduct business process discovery and translate findings into technical solutions.
  • Ability to document technical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience creating user-friendly forms, views, and process dashboards.
  • Experience supporting HR, recruiting, or volunteer programs.
  • Understanding of data governance best practices.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint permissions, Microsoft 365 groups, and role-based access.
  • Experience improving user experience within SharePoint environments.
  • Strong communication skills with business stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JSON column/view formatting, Power Apps, or Dataverse is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 governance, retention, sensitivity, or compliance concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct current-state assessment of existing SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, reports, and workflows used by the Volunteer Experience teams.
  • Gather requirements from Volunteer Experience, P&C Operations, IT, and other key stakeholders.
  • Document data architecture, permissions, and process dependencies.
  • Identify data integrity issues, duplication, and structural gaps.
  • Provide recommendations for improved information architecture and governance.
  • Redesign and standardize SharePoint lists and libraries.
  • Support data cleanup, standardization, and migration activities in partnership with business owners.
  • Establish naming conventions and metadata standards.
  • Recommend and implement approved permission improvements in coordination with IT and business owners.
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards to support: global volunteer recruiting metrics, onboarding pipeline tracking, and operational reporting for Ship P&C Operations.
  • Ensure clean data connections and sustainable reporting models.
  • Define sustainable data refresh and ownership processes.
  • Train stakeholders on report usage and interpretation.
  • Assess and improve existing Power Automate workflows.
  • Develop new automated workflows to streamline volunteer intake, approvals, status changes, and cross-team handoffs.
  • Reduce manual processes and improve process visibility.
  • Ensure workflows are documented, supportable, and aligned with Microsoft 365 governance standards.
  • Provide knowledge transfer for internal teams.
