Sharepoint Developer

Saxon Global•Jacksonville, FL

About The Position

This workstream is focused on modernizing and scaling Huntington's Intake and Portfolio Health Monitoring capabilities. The team is looking to expand functionality, establish Azure DevOps (ADO) as the system of record, integrate SharePoint with ADO, and develop a more interactive web-based user experience. The preference is a SharePoint web-based experience utilizing custom web parts, with Power Platform capabilities used selectively where appropriate. The overall effort requires an Architect/Technical Lead and 1-2 Senior Engineers. The existing Program Health workbook is Excel-based and not scalable. The future-state solution will require integration with ADO as the source of truth via APIs, manual inputs from Product Managers, a more interactive and scalable web-based UI, and further development of an emerging data model spanning SharePoint lists, ADO work items, reporting snapshots, and related datasets, with formalized traceability and data relationships.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience architecting SharePoint Online solutions with standard and custom web-part interfaces in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience leading technical discovery and translating complex workflow, portfolio, governance, reporting, and data requirements into scalable architecture.
  • Experience designing Azure DevOps integrations for SharePoint-based solutions, including hierarchy, field mapping, refresh, errors, monitoring, and data ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint lists, pages, modern web parts, permissions, information architecture, SPFx or comparable web-part development, APIs, and supporting automation.
  • Experience with data models, configurable rules, historical snapshots, audit trails, security, environments, source control, deployment, rollback, monitoring, and support standards.
  • Ability to lead technical resources, review solution quality, document architecture decisions, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Demonstrated independence, strong ownership, sound judgment, clear communication, and disciplined follow-through.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SPFx, custom SharePoint web parts, TypeScript or JavaScript, Microsoft Graph or REST APIs, Git, and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with product portfolio management, demand intake, governance, Agile delivery, roadmap projection, capacity planning, or program-health reporting.
  • Experience designing Power BI, structured export, or automated PowerPoint reporting from SharePoint and Azure DevOps data.
  • Experience implementing configurable health, trend, data-quality, readiness, value, scope, velocity, capacity, and projection calculations.
  • Experience delivering reusable solutions across multiple business units or value streams in financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Power Platform experience is helpful, particularly around Power Automate/Flows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery and define the overall solution vision, architecture, and implementation approach.
  • Review the existing Intake Management site, management and colleague-facing web parts, SharePoint lists and pages, supporting automation, Program Health Workbook, Azure DevOps structures, reporting templates, data sources, permissions, connectors, licensing, and support constraints.
  • Translate business requirements into logical and physical architecture, data models, data ownership, integration patterns, calculation approaches, snapshot strategy, security, environments, and configuration.
  • Define a web-part-first user experience using modern SharePoint pages, standard web parts, and custom SPFx components where needed.
  • Recommend supporting automation, Power BI, structured exports, or automated reporting capabilities where they add value. Use Power Apps only when a specific requirement cannot be effectively met through the web-part experience.
  • Design for reuse across four value streams through configuration rather than separate custom implementations.
  • Define Azure DevOps integration specifications for the SharePoint and web-part solution, including projects, Area Paths, work-item types, fields, hierarchy, refresh, monitoring, error handling, and data ownership.
  • Ensure traceability from intake through pre-discovery, approval, delivery, implementation, readiness, value realization, and reporting.
  • Design configurable models for initiatives, value streams, teams, workstreams, milestones, refinement, scope, capacity, projections, dependencies, risks, decisions, readiness, value, health, trend, and data quality.
  • Define auditable historical snapshots and certification so monthly and quarterly periods remain reproducible after source changes.
  • Build or oversee complex integrations, calculations, projections, health assessments, data-quality rules, refresh controls, and reporting outputs.
  • Ensure source freshness, failures, missing or qualitative data, overrides, exceptions, and corrective actions are visible.
  • Provide day-to-day technical direction to the SharePoint Web Parts Developer and UX Specialist resource or resources.
  • Establish standards for development, testing, Git-based source control, deployment, versioning, monitoring, diagnostics, rollback, documentation, and support.
  • Review technical deliverables for alignment with architecture, maintainability, security, accessibility, performance, and acceptance criteria.
  • Guide role-based access, least privilege, configuration controls, audit history, service-account documentation, and development, test, and production environment design.
  • Lead resolution of licensing, access, security, integration, data, and platform constraints with clear options and recommendations.
  • Ensure custom code is separated from configuration, source controlled, documented, deployable, and supportable without dependence on one consultant.
  • Lead pilot design and validation with an agreed value stream, including comparison with current reporting and reconciliation of differences.
  • Oversee user acceptance, security, failed-refresh, new-Feature, history, governance, reporting, accessibility, and deployment testing.
  • Demonstrate repeatable onboarding of another value stream without duplicating the implementation.
  • Own or oversee architecture, data dictionary, integration specifications, rule catalogs, deployment assets, administrator guidance, source-code documentation, and the post-implementation backlog.
  • Conduct demonstrations, training, and knowledge transfer for internal administration and support.
