Shared Living Caregiver (Pittsfield, MA)
About The Position
Nonotuck Resources Associates is a community-based agency that has been providing residential services since 1972 to people with intellectual disabilities. We believe in the transformative power of caring for a person in a home-setting and support individuals by matching them with caring providers who open their hearts and homes to our members as Shared Living Caregivers. We are currently seeking a Shared Living Caregiver for a young man in his 30s who is working toward greater independence. He is employed during the week, spends some time independently both at home and in the community, and is motivated to build meaningful connections and develop new skills. He enjoys a variety of interests and looks forward to sharing some of those experiences with a housemate or family setting.
Requirements
- Must provide a flexible and supportive environment where the individual they are supporting will feel safe and secure.
Responsibilities
- Planning and sharing daily meals
- Coordinating transportation and attending appointments
- Supporting participation in community and social activities
- Assisting with budgeting and money management
- Providing supervision and guidance with internet use
- Offering assistance, supervision, and skill-building in areas such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Providing emotional and behavioral support as needed
