About The Position

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting a Shaftman to join their operations team. Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a strong track record of creating value and a commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. They operate three mines in Canada and Mexico, with a portfolio of development stage projects and exploration projects. Requirements

  • 3-5 years underground experience as a shaftman
  • Must be accredited in U/G common core modules
  • Strong safety focus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Accreditation in specialty modules would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, repairs, and replaces mine shaft parts, like timbers, cage guides, guardrails, and cable, using handtools.
  • Tightens joints of compressed air, steam and water pipes in shaft, using pipe wrenches.
  • May build doors brattices of canvas or wood.
  • May erect partitions of concrete, concrete block, or brick.
