About The Position

The Lunchroom Supervisor supports students through customer service, seating in the cafeteria, and dismissal from lunch tables. This role assists with cafeteria maintenance to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and department requirements. The supervisor communicates promptly and works harmoniously with students and staff, supervising students during lunch periods in an area designated by the Principal and monitoring their behavior. The Crossing Guard aspect of the role involves providing student and parent pedestrian safety by facilitating safe passage across high-traffic streets and intersections, adhering to specialized training procedures, and monitoring for dangerous traffic or vehicular problems.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate promptly and work harmoniously with students and staff.
• Ability to supervise students during lunch period and monitor their behavior.
• Ability to provide student and parent pedestrian safety.
• Ability to facilitate safe passage across high-traffic streets and intersections.
• Completion of required specialized training course for crossing guards.

Responsibilities

• Supports students through the customer service line, seating in the cafeteria and dismissal from the lunchroom tables as they complete their meal.
• Assists with the maintenance of the cafeteria area in order to comply with federal, state, local and department requirements.
• Communicates promptly and works harmoniously with the students and staff.
• Supervises students during lunch period in an area designated by the Principal.
• Monitors students for appropriate behavior while they are in the lunchroom.
• Provide student and parent pedestrian safety by facilitating safe passage of school children across high traffic streets and intersections.
• Provide safe crossing or passage of school children (and/or pedestrians) pursuant to the procedures learned in the required specialized training course.
• Monitor potentially dangerous, hazardous traffic and/or vehicular problems.
