About The Position

The Vice President of Academic & Career Excellence advances initiatives that promote academic success, intellectual growth, and professional development. This position advocates for student academic interests, strengthens collaboration with faculty and academic departments, and supports career readiness opportunities. The VP ensures that Student Government prioritizes policies and programs that enhance students’ educational and post-graduate success.

Requirements

• Undergraduate student currently enrolled at Mount St. Joseph University
• Must maintain and uphold a 2.5 GPA semesterly
• Must be in good standing with Mount St. Joseph University

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce the provisions of the Constitution
• Assist in making immediate necessary decisions concerning the Student Government
• Assist in resolving any disputes over the interpretation of the Constitution, with advice from the SGA Advisor
• Attend all meetings of the Student Government Association
• Assist in approving stipends for the elected SGA members
• Have the right to call meetings to order between the Executive Board and Committee chairs as necessary.
• Serve as liaison between students, faculty, and academic administration.
• Advocate for academic policy improvements and student academic resources.
• Collaborate with Career Services to promote internships, networking events, and job readiness programs.
• Lead initiatives focused on academic success, tutoring, and mentorship.
• Collect and present student feedback on curriculum, advising, and academic support services.
