About The Position

The Sewing Trainer assists with workflow across borders, sewing, topstitching, surge, and inspection. The role works with sewing associates to answer questions about work tickets and specification sheets, address repairs and quality, and keep production flowing according to schedule dates. The trainer also trains new sewing associates, sews new products and specialty and custom items, and prepares sewing specifications from product development.

Requirements

At least 3 years of furniture or upholstery sewing experience.
Proficiency using computers for reporting, email, and production-information lookup, including Word, Excel, AS400, and IBM Notes.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work with associates at all levels, from management to manufacturing.
Knowledge of LEE sewing standards.

Responsibilities

Assist workflow across borders, sewing, topstitching, surge, and inspection.
Work with sewing associates to address questions about work tickets and specification sheets.
Work directly with associates on repairs and quality.
Document associate repairs and maintain logs for weekly, monthly, and yearly quality reports.
Keep production flowing according to schedule dates and identify bottlenecks.
Communicate with the Sewing Manager and Sewing Lead about the listed production and quality matters and areas for improvement.
Train all new sewing associates.
Resolve issues and sewing problems.
Sew new products, specialty items, and custom items.
Prepare sewing specifications from product development.
Take apart repairs when needed to identify sewing issues.
