About The Position

The Sewing Coordinator serves as a vital member of the Manufacturing Operations team by coordinating workflow within the Sewing Department to ensure production schedules, customer orders, and shipping deadlines are met. This position is responsible for production scheduling support, work order coordination, order tracking, communication between departments, and maintaining efficient production flow. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ERP or manufacturing software systems such as AS400 preferred.
  • Understanding of production scheduling, workflow management, and manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Previous experience in furniture manufacturing or upholstered furniture production preferred.
  • Experience in production coordination, manufacturing support, scheduling, logistics coordination, or operations preferred.
  • Experience working with production reports, work orders, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One or more years of manufacturing, production coordination, scheduling, or operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and distribute daily work orders to sewing associates based on production priorities and scheduling requirements.
  • Monitor production workflow to ensure orders remain on schedule and production goals are achieved.
  • Track work-in-process (WIP) throughout the sewing department and communicate production status to leadership.
  • Prioritize and monitor Rush Orders, S-List orders, special requests, and LTL shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Match completed work with production schedules and coordinate movement to downstream departments.
  • Investigate and follow up on delayed, held, or incomplete production orders.
  • Review and utilize production reports including: Backlog Reports, Work-in-Progress (WIP), Market Sample Reports, Repair Reports, Production Status Reports.
  • Coordinate with the Sewing Manager, Sewing Lead, Cutting, Upholstery, Shipping, and other production departments to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Assist in identifying production bottlenecks and recommend workflow improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production records within AS400 or other ERP/manufacturing systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
