About The Position

This role involves finishing the edges of custom fabricated rugs using various methods such as machine serging, hand serging, and machine binding. The sewer will be responsible for reviewing work orders to ensure accurate application of edge finishing, inspecting the quality of completed work, and ensuring all equipment is used correctly and safely. Maintenance of equipment is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• High School / GED.
• Computer Experience required.
• Ability to use AS400.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word.
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Add edge finishing to custom rug edges using machine serging, hand serging, or machine binding.
• Review each work order, paying close attention to details for each order.
• Apply the appropriate edge finishing per the instructions on the work order.
• Review and inspect the quality of edge finish of each piece once completed.
• Have the Fabrication department manager check the edge finish for any defects.
• Ensure that all equipment is used correctly and safely.
• Maintain all equipment as needed (binding machines, serging machines, scissors etc).
