About The Position

This position is responsible for assembling a variety of curtain styles according to established quality and timeliness standards. The role involves reading orders, cutting tubes, gathering components, and packing. The operator will work with machines, utilize knowledge of measurements, and perform basic manual tasks with tools. There is a willingness to train in other assembly positions and availability to work overtime. Key responsibilities include cutting fabric and/or rods, sewing fabric, or picking up components. The operator will handle fabric during cutting and drilling, and may weigh fabric and enter data into a computer. They will pick up curtains from racks, tables, or carts according to prioritization standards, and perform initial assembly to prepare the curtain for hanging, inspection, and adjustment. This includes hanging the curtain, performing an initial inspection to ensure components and tools are in place, and properly adjusting the motor and clutch if applicable. Necessary adjustments will be made, followed by another inspection. The operator will carry out the entire assembly process, including any decoration or tool application. The curtain will be tested through visual, quality, and functionality inspection to ensure it hangs straight, functions well, and has no damage. Interaction with quality specialists is required to ensure standards are met. Finally, the curtain will be prepared for packing and shipping by placing it in plastic and/or a box. Additional duties include completing paperwork and documentation related to curtain assembly, working with engineering to test new products/designs, maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following established procedures, performing minor maintenance on equipment and tools, interacting with maintenance personnel regarding equipment repairs and development of new equipment, and following established safety policies and procedures. The operator will also attend safety meetings and team meetings to promote open communication.

Requirements

  • Sewing experience with a 1-needle industrial machine
  • 3 months of manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Sewing experience with a 1-needle industrial machine
  • Assemble curtains according to quality and timeliness standards
  • May perform some pre-assembly responsibilities
  • Cut fabric and/or rod or sew fabric or pick up components
  • Handle fabric when cutting it to length and/or drilling holes. Or weigh fabric and enter data into a computer
  • Pick up curtain from rack/table/cart according to established prioritization standards
  • Perform initial assembly of the curtain so it can be hung, inspected, and adjusted
  • Hang the curtain and perform initial inspection to ensure that the components/tools are in place, and the motor and clutch are properly adjusted (if applicable)
  • Make any necessary adjustments and inspect again
  • Carry out the entire assembly process including any decoration and/or tool
  • Test the curtain through visual, quality, and functionality inspection (make sure it hangs straight, works well, has no damage, etc.)
  • Interact with quality specialists to ensure standards are met
