Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments to determine the best location and layout for sewer system installation, taking into account local building codes and regulations.
• Order and procure all necessary materials, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and tools, required for the sewer system installation.
• Excavate trenches to the appropriate depth and slope for sewer lines, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to local codes and safety standards.
• Install sewer pipes, including PVC, cast iron, or other suitable materials, ensuring watertight connections, proper slopes, and alignment.
• Construct and install manholes, cleanouts, and access points to facilitate inspections and maintenance of the sewer system.
• Connect sewer lines to plumbing fixtures such as toilets, sinks, showers, and floor drains, ensuring proper seals and venting.
• Perform hydraulic tests to ensure the sewer system is leak-free and functions correctly.
• Install ventilation systems to prevent the buildup of sewer gases within buildings.
• Properly backfill trenches with soil and compact it to restore the surface to its original condition.
• Utilize cameras and diagnostic equipment to inspect sewer lines, identifying blockages, leaks, or damage.
• Locate and repair leaks, breaches, or damaged sections of sewer lines, replacing or patching pipes as necessary.
• Remove tree roots or other obstructions that may infiltrate sewer lines and cause blockages.
• Ensure that all sewer system installations adhere to local plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Conduct thorough inspections of the completed sewer system to ensure proper functionality and compliance with design specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including measurements, materials used, and any necessary permits or inspections.
• Communicate professionally with clients and property owners, addressing questions, providing progress updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Be available for emergency sewer system repairs and provide immediate assistance as needed, even outside regular working hours.
• Perform routine maintenance on sewer systems, including cleaning and servicing sewer lines and associated equipment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in sewer system technology, materials, and installation techniques through training and professional development.
