About The Position

Outdoor Cap and JUNK Brands is a dedicated organization with a passion for all things headwear. Committed to creating high-quality products known for our careful attention to detail and craftsmanship. We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team and contribute to the creation of our premium products. As an essential player, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our products. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment such as, but not limited to, measuring tools, heat gun, irons, embroidery and sewing tools, and sewing machines. To be successful in this role, you should be able to follow detailed instructions and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and work orders (in English).
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with co-workers and/or supervisors.
  • Basic Math: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, work at a fast pace, keep a positive attitude and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work with little absenteeism and available for overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Embroidery, sewing and/or digitizing experience desired, but not mandatory.
  • Very basic computer knowledge helpful; Uses in-house programs (example: Exenta, Quickturn, NetSuite, Shopify).
  • Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk (90% of the day) and occasionally reach, bend, and move inside the facility to move product.
  • Fine motor skills: required using the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Vision: Required to have close visual acuity, color vision and depth perception.
  • Able to hear and effectively communicate with peers.
  • Ability to lift/move/pull 10-50 lbs. occasionally throughout day.
  • Pass a dexterity test.
  • Interprets work orders, paying close attention to all details to ensure product is completed correctly with the highest standard of accuracy and quality and reflects artwork.
  • Tie thread to machine. Change as required for each order.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Seam fabric components together with precision and quality (JUNK).
  • Sew all headbands for example: BBL, BAL, BB, CT, FT, TB (JUNK).
  • Sew all patch types and all patch shapes to any hat type for example: leather, fabric, sublimated and third party patches; circle, square, buckle, rectangle shapes; structured and unstructured caps, knits, and hat bands for straws (OC).
  • Inspect finished products to verify quality standards and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve efficient production processes.
  • Re-test every 6 months for accuracy and recertification.
  • Able to demonstrate competencies for various machinery / techniques for next level.
