About The Position

The Setup Technician is responsible for maintaining inventory and setting up all forging tooling and dies. This includes assembling trimmers, die sets, pierce operations, and drop throughs, as well as assembling cassettes for various presses (1000 ton, 1600 ton, 2500 ton, and 4000 ton). The role also involves operating equipment such as steam cleaners, cutting torches (acetylene & propane), belt sanders, grinders, impact wrenches, and basic hand tools. Additionally, the technician will operate fork trucks for transporting and storing forging tooling, and inspect and complete paperwork for new, used, and re-worked dies based on blueprints. Good mathematical ability and attention to detail are essential. All other duties as required will also be part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and set-up of all forging tooling and dies
• Assemble trimmers, die sets, pierce operations & drop through’s
• Assemble cassettes for 1000 ton, 1600 ton, 2500 ton & 4000 ton presses
• Operate steam cleaners, cutting torch (acetylene & propane), belt sander, grinder, impact wrenches & basic hand tools
• Operate fork trucks in order to transport and store forging tooling
• Inspect and fill out necessary paper work on new, used, and re-worked dies according to blue prints
• Demonstrate good mathematical ability & attention to detail
• Perform all other duties required
