About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating CNC and manual machine tools to manufacture precision components. The position requires reading and interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling, monitoring machine performance, and ensuring quality control through inspection. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining principles, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

3 to 7 years of precision machining experience, including CNC and/or manual machine operation.
Working knowledge of CNC machining principles.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or similar machining equipment.
Familiarity with tooling selection, cutting parameters, and standard fixturing techniques.
Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including: Micrometers, Calipers, Dial indicators, Height gauges
Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience editing basic CNC programs and offsets.
Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or job shop environment.
Technical certificate or Associate's Degree in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools, including mills and lathes, to manufacture precision components.
Run existing CNC programs and make minor program edits, offsets, and tool adjustments as required.
Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters with guidance from senior machinists and leadership.
Load, secure, and align workpieces to ensure accurate machining results.
Monitor machine performance and verify production requirements are met.
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, work instructions, and GD&T specifications.
Review job requirements and determine proper setup methods.
Verify tooling, fixturing, and material requirements before production begins.
Document setup procedures and machining processes to support repeatability and consistency.
Inspect machined components using precision measuring equipment.
Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes meet engineering requirements.
Identify and communicate quality concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate inspection and production records as required.
Assist in troubleshooting setup, tooling, program, and machining issues.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve efficiency and quality.
Support process improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
Contribute ideas that improve safety, productivity, and operational performance.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Assist other departments as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
