About The Position

The Securities Borrowing & Lending (SBL) Operations team is responsible for providing efficient and accurate settlements for our SBL and collateral management business for the firm globally. As a Settlement Specialist, you will be responsible for settling and processing trades on our SBL and collateral management platforms. You must understand various complex products, associated trade events (including bookkeeping activities) and other related process flows. Coordinate with clients on daily on settlement confirmations and problem resolution. The role will require frequent professional engagement with clients, traders, senior leaders and other support staff. The Settlement Specialist will also be accountable for providing business identification and consultative support relative to the development, analysis and identification of process changes and/or system enhancements. The incumbent will proactively analyze and recommend enhancements to the existing business processes and clearly communicate rationale and negotiate solutions which will enhance operational effectiveness. Ensure that all assigned initiatives are implemented in an effective manner within area of responsibility. Participate in meetings to answer questions as a Subject Matter Expert. Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring all client agreements and trade commitments are adhered to.
  • All trading activity is fully balanced and settled by specified SLAs without errors or breaks.
  • Regularly participate in research and analysis of discrepancies between internal records, custodians and counterparties.
  • Respond to client's inquiries and requests, providing professional high quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Liaise and interact with clients as part of the daily management of your portfolio.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating and resolving operational or process problems.
  • Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
  • Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements.
  • Seeks efficiencies in operational functions wherever possible.
  • Experience with Global One, Euroclear, Clearstream, DTC, CDS, Arrow, Broadridge (ADP).
