About The Position
The Setter, also known as a Water spider, supports uninterrupted workflow in a Lean manufacturing environment. The role reduces variation in production, helps employees focus on value-adding activities, and facilitates productivity and the flow of work. Duties may be assigned or reassigned by management, including for reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
Requirements
- Basic verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to count product.
- Ability to learn to operate material handling equipment, such as a forklift or wave.
- Ability to push carts with heavy loads.
- Ability to be at the workstation on time every day unless otherwise authorized.
- Must have U.S. work authorization; future sponsorship for work authorization is not available.
- Ability to lift and move up to 45 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and handle extended periods of physical activity.
Responsibilities
- Deliver supplies to workstations and areas.
- Transport and replace goods.
- Retrieve tooling and gauging.
- Perform start-up activities for assembly lines and test stands.
- Dispose of used materials or supplies.
- Participate in 7s improvements, waste elimination, and flow improvement activities.
- Update and route KB cards.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
