About The Position

The APU Setter is responsible for the startup, operation and TPM maintenance of molding and assembly equipment and the packaging of packaging of molded and/or assembled components per company and customer specifications. This role supports and has knowledge of responsibilities of operator level 1 and 2, completes visual inspection of product per production specification for defects, and maintains a clean workspace and 5S Standards in the work area daily/weekly/monthly. The Setter loads validated master cycle parameters into the Injection Molding machine at each startup, loads programs into and aligns automated and robotic systems, and ensures Injection Molding machines are running to standard and product quality meets specification at each startup. They troubleshoot small and mid-size problems in processes, escalating to Setter Level 2 or Maintenance as needed, answer alarms, and start and stop machines after initial start-up. Retrieving required documentation out of TMS for quality-related decisions, performing line clearances, and cleaning injection molds as required per work instructions are also key duties. The role involves pulling and setting molds, performing color changes and material lots, completing traceability documentation, and performing assembly start-up batches/shots for product change/new version. Additionally, the Setter completes Assembly, Injection Molding and auxiliary equipment (TPM) Total Productive Maintenance - Level 1, completes cycle checklists, and performs LOTO (lock out/tag out) of any unsafe equipment. Maintaining Lean initiatives, participating in lean projects, and providing suggestions and taking an active role in Process Improvements to eliminate non-value-added activity are expected. The Setter supports and maintains all company policies including ISO Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, GMP, and standard work procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience (required)
Able to frequently lift up to 50lbs.
Stand and walk 90% of shift
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grab and climb
Satisfy vision testing requirements of the job

Responsibilities

Supports and has knowledge of responsibilities of operator level 1 and 2
