About The Position

Performs set-ups, reconditioning, basic service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. Will work with direction or guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
No technician experience or formal training/education required
Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manuals
Basic mechanical knowledge
Ability to use a forklift/skid loader
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Required tools and training will be provided
Frequent bending and stooping
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. frequently
Standing for extended periods of time
Occasional work outdoors in extreme heat or cold, rain or snow
Occasional work on ladders
Occasional work in confined spaces
Ability to work extended hours and weekends
Valid drivers license with an insurable driving record required
Must pass a pre-employment background study

Responsibilities

Performs set-ups and reconditioning of company owned equipment
Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties
Interacts in a positive and respectful manner with customers and fellow employees
Actively assists in recruiting service work
Shares knowledge and skills with other company technicians
Assists other technicians as assigned to increase total shop productivity
Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Performs other duties as assigned
