About The Position

The Set Up Technician I is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of product by operating and maintaining equipment and processes that provide optimum customer service. The Set Up Technician I supports the production process by setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting equipment. Set Up Technicians will perform independent operation of various production machines, will maintain machine operations, perform independent tool changes and set-up without assistance. Set Up Technicians will also have the ability to cycle through proven and unproven programs to obtain first article without assistance on multiple machine types. This position is responsible for collaborating with other technicians and operators as necessary. Technicians in this category will be responsible for knowing and implementing all area specific compliance issues, including quality, environmental, safety and Milwaukee Tool policies. They will contribute to team efforts by participating in continuous improvement projects as required. They will be responsible for enhancing the department’s productivity and quality and assisting Supervisor or Team Lead as required. They will also assist with training associates as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School or GED diploma required.
  • Two (2) years of previous experience, and/or equivalent training.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate issues, propose effective solutions, and communicate clearly through strong written and verbal skills.
  • Leadership, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail is required.
  • Ability to manage interruptions in a professional and respectful manner is essential.
  • Able to interpret technical data, including drawings and schematics, accurately.
  • Must be proficient in the use of common inspection and test equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical, or technical field.
  • Technical Certification in a Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or related program.
