About The Position

The Set-Up Operator is responsible for configuring, operating, and maintaining multiple types of lettershop inserting systems, including MPS, APS, and Epic equipment. This role ensures accurate, efficient, and high-quality mail production while meeting client specifications and production deadlines.

Requirements

Experience operating MPS, APS, Epic, or similar lettershop inserting equipment preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and job specifications
Basic computer skills for machine interfaces and reporting systems
High attention to detail and quality control
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

Set up and operate MPS, APS, and Epic inserting systems for a variety of direct mail and transactional jobs
Review and interpret job tickets, specifications, and production schedules
Configure machine components including feeders, folders, inserters, cameras, and conveyors
Load materials such as envelopes, inserts, and forms into equipment
Perform test runs and calibrate machines to ensure proper alignment, folding, inserting, and sealing
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues such as jams, double feeds, or misreads
Ensure accuracy of mail pieces, including correct matching and sequencing when applicable
Verify jobs meet USPS regulations and client quality standards
Conduct routine maintenance and minor mechanical adjustments
Document production data, downtime, and quality checks
Collaborate with supervisors, quality control, and maintenance teams
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
