About The Position

This position requires collaboration with all support groups, including scheduling, supervision, management, RX, lean, warehouse, and shop floor associates. The associate can recognize the need for and escalate process improvements to standard work that reduce cost and/or improve quality and delivery. The set-up associate will be responsible for maintaining and utilizing order tracking systems (SAP reports, schedules, etc.) and communicating information that would negatively affect PvA, other metrics, or shipment of orders. At this level, they can make significant improvements to existing processes and develop new processes to address unique/complex needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Assembly experience and knowledge of the product/process.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions.
  • Able to recognize functional and cosmetic defects.
  • Responsible for the assembly, testing, and packaging of product.
  • Requires the use of assembly equipment, Control, CWI and standard work.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Respect for the individual.

Responsibilities

  • Understand assembly processes from ASO1 – ASO4.
  • Troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Multitask efficiently.

  • Support associates in achieving changeover time goals.
  • Conduct start-up meetings as needed, communicating information to supervisors and assisting in preparing shift start-up materials.
  • Identify work centers with BOs or orders due today to prioritize and avoid Broken Promises.
  • Schedule associates at appropriate work centers.
  • Print and distribute schedules.
  • Submit RX requests and follow up.
  • Manage Quality Notifications.
  • Participate in Corrective Actions (CA's).
  • Submit deviations.
  • Perform first article approvals as needed.
  • Escalate issues to supervisors when problems arise.
  • Address safety concerns, complete appropriate forms, and notify supervisors.
  • Respond to operator escalations.
  • Address downtime immediately and escalate when necessary.
  • Perform Short Interval Leadership (SILs) in the absence of a supervisor or as needed.
  • Assist in shop floor support by ordering items needed within the department.
  • Monitor Changeover progress.
  • Perform IPI (In-Process Inspection).
  • Communicate with the oncoming support team for department status.
  • Lead and participate in department events (Kaizan, CEDAC, etc.).
  • Manage emails and communication with support groups.
  • Perform associate recognition.
  • Assist in team building, motivating and encouraging team members.
  • Maintain consistent product flow.
  • Review and update standard work and submit.
  • Monitor scrap and return to stock.
  • Perform daily audits to ensure standard work compliance.
