About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating stamping presses on the second shift. The primary responsibilities include setting, aligning, and securing dies, adjusting ram strokes, and performing various stamping operations such as blanking, shearing, trimming, punching, forming, drawing, and extruding using complex die designs. The position also requires setting up auxiliary equipment like stripper, knock-out, ejecting, and safety devices, as well as lubrication systems and coil feeds. Responsibilities extend to converting multi-purpose dies, improvising setups for special adaptations, performing minor die maintenance and changes, and programming/setting up sensing and support equipment for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection, and sensors. The ability to operate multiple presses simultaneously is expected, along with the capacity to work from drawings and samples, use precision measuring instruments for self-inspection, and assist supervisors with special projects. General cleaning, housekeeping, and powered industrial truck operation are also part of the duties. Displaying a willingness to assist and train others is important.

Responsibilities

Set, align and secure dies, set ram stroke, etc., to perform such operations as blank, shear, trim, punch, form draw, extrude, etc., in progressive, compound, cam acting or combination dies of complex design.
Set stripper, knock-out, ejecting and safety devices, lubrication systems and coil feeds.
Convert multi-purpose dies and improvise standard set ups for special adaptations when required.
Perform minor die maintenance and minor die changes.
Program and/or set up required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors.
Ability to operate more than one press at a time when appropriate.
Work from drawings and samples.
Use precision measuring instruments for operator self-inspection.
Assist the supervisor with special projects.
General cleaning and housekeeping.
