About The Position

Responsible for the advanced mechanical set-up, technical configuration, and troubleshooting of multi-craft equipment, including heavy metal fabrication (stamping presses, CNC/laser), precision machine tools. This role serves as a senior technical resource, leading complex changeovers, performing advanced quality checks, and driving continuous improvement to maximize production flow and equipment uptime.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of documented multi-craft setup, die setting, or technical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauge).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, part drawings, and technical schematics/layouts.
  • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving methodologies to troubleshoot systems.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent skilled trades coursework is preferred.
  • Power Press certification, Overhead crane training, and/or Fork truck license/PVO license.

Responsibilities

  • Install, align, and secure stamping dies into power presses, adjusting ram stroke, shut height, and feed systems to match part specifications.
  • Setup and document tooling and safe practices for Press Brake operations.
  • Verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances and machine functions.
  • Operators will be required to maintain accurate parts and motivation on routine repetitive jobs.
  • During operations, the operator will be required to maintain cleanliness of the machine.
  • In process checks will be required by the operator to maintain all required tolerances and quality.
  • Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
  • Communicates all production related items to next shift operators or shift supervisors.
  • Responsible for operation, proving programs, operating controls, setting all machine functions, deburring and inspection of parts to assure conformance will be required.
  • Will need to be able to work from drawings and sketches, read and understand prints or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
  • Run trial parts and grant first piece inspection approval for complex tooling changes.
  • Perform in-depth quality validation using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, fixed gauges) to verify conformance of parts to blueprints.
  • Rework and salvage defective or blemished stainless steel parts using grinding, blending, and buffing techniques.
  • Ensure all safety systems (light curtains, interlocking gates, E-stops) are fully operational before machine turnover.
  • Complete all required production, safety, and quality paperwork/records and maintain a safe, compliant work area.
