About The Position

The GWCCA is currently seeking a Set-Up Lead to join our team. The Set-up Lead shall direct Set-up shift personnel assigned in the day-to-day activities of the Set-up Department, to include but not be limited to oversee assigned shift personnel activities, train Set-up Attendants, complete shift reports, operate Set-up equipment and such other functions and duties as required by the Set-up Shift Supervisor or Set-up Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as Set-up Attendant or comparable position in a multi-purpose facility, hotel or related operation.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis.
  • High degree of integrity and compliance.
  • Thoroughness in task approach, follow-up and completion
  • Self-awareness
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload using own initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task & work under pressure with limited resources
  • Detail oriented
  • Assess, weigh and manage risk in the face of uncertainty

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in providing customer service directly to customers preferred.
  • Multi-lingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and assist Part-time & Full-time Set-up Attendants as well as Temporary Personnel in the completion of shift assignments as required.
  • In collaboration with Facility Operations Training Supervisor, provide on-the-job training for Set-up Attendants and part-time personnel as required.
  • Complete daily assignments as assigned and in a cooperative manner.
  • Complete shift reports as to departmental and/or interdepartmental requirements as required.
  • Inspect Set-up equipment on a routine basis and notify the Set-up Shift Supervisor of equipment requiring repair or replacement.
  • Ensure that all storage rooms are kept clean and in an orderly manner; notify Set-up Shift Supervisor of supplies requiring replenishment.
  • Maintain equipment by following established set-up procedures.
  • Counsel Set-up Attendants as required.
  • Supervise the interfacing of part-time employees with Full-time Set-up Attendants as required.
  • Perform Set-up tasks as required – handling/transporting of equipment to include but not limited to tables, chairs, portable stages, bike barricade, etc.
  • Assume responsibility for equipment assigned (i.e. two-way radios, keys, tapes, etc.).
  • Maintain a professional image that represents the philosophy of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority with emphasis upon providing the highest level of customer service deemed possible.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize and assign work to ensure that the highest quality of customer service is provided to our customers, both internal and external.
