About The Position

The course MIE1214S – Applied Computational Fluid Dynamics is designed for students with little to no prior knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) who wish to learn its application in solving engineering problems. The course will offer a broad overview of CFD and its use in fluid flow and heat transfer. It will also cover the utilization of popular CFD packages, specifically teaching the basics of CFD and applying this knowledge to the Fluent Ansys CFD software. It is important to note that the primary objective of this class is not software proficiency, but rather using the software as a tool to teach fundamental concepts in a practical context.

Requirements

  • Strong record of presenting lectures or acting as a teaching assistant
  • Considerable depth of knowledge and experience in the subject area (Applied Computational Fluid Dynamics)
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Limited License (LEL) is strongly preferred
  • Engineering Intern (EIT) is also acceptable

Nice To Haves

  • Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
