About The Position

The course MIE1403F – Analytical Methods in Human Factors covers a variety of topics in Human Factors / Ergonomics research related to the acquiring, analysing, and modelling of human behavioural data. Topics include selecting measures for Human Factors Research, psychophysical methods of measurement (Classical psychophysical methods, Signal Detection Theory, Indirect and direct subjective scaling), Protocol Analysis (Interviewing and Questionnaires, Knowledge Elicitation), estimating mental workload & situational awareness, and Manual Control (Tracking paradigms, Modelling of human manual control performance).

Requirements

  • Strong record of presenting lectures or acting as a teaching assistant
  • Considerable depth of knowledge and experience in the subject area
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Limited License (LEL) is strongly preferred
  • Engineering Intern (EIT) is also acceptable
