About The Position

Course Code: KIN8136H: Physical Activity for Persons with Disabilities Course description: This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of physical activity for individuals with disabilities. This course explores various disabilities and their impact on motor, sensory, and cognitive functioning and overall well-being. Students will learn strategies to support the physical activity of persons with disabilities in a variety of physical activity settings, inclusive teaching and assessment methods, and how to design individualized exercise programs to enhance the well-being of persons with disabilities. Through a combination of lectures and practical activities, emphasis will be placed on promoting inclusivity, accessibility and empowerment through physical activity.

Requirements

  • PhD preferred in a relevant area, or combination of relevant expertise and experience.

  • Teaching experience in college or university setting is an asset.
