About The Position

This course is designed to prepare teachers of Business in Grades 9-12. It focuses on evidence-based curriculum development, planning, and implementation for a range of Business Courses. Innovative instructional techniques and assessment approaches for teaching a variety of Business Studies curricula at all secondary grade levels will be examined. Other topics addressed include the use of technology, selection and creation of resources for business courses, and current issues and directions in business education. The estimated course enrollment is 35 students. The class schedule is Monday 13:00 - 16:00 and Wednesday 13:00 - 16:00. The sessional dates of appointment are from 2026-09-01 to 2027-04-30, with an appointment percentage of 100%.

Requirements

  • Possess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrate currency and mastery in the course subject matter
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching, including online teaching as relevant
  • Demonstrate evidence of knowledge and practice of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching and leading teachers/teacher-candidates professional learning

Nice To Haves

  • An Ontario Teaching certificate is an asset.

  • Evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work
  • Attend a pre-course planning/preparation meeting with the course instructional team
