About The Position

The Servicing Oversight Specialist serves as a key member of the loan servicing oversight function, ensuring mortgage loans are serviced in compliance with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • A college degree with 5-years related experience and/or training in mortgage servicing/ mortgage banking. A combination of equivalent education and experience is acceptable.
  • Strong working knowledge of FNMA, Freddie Mac, NYS DFS, and mortgage servicing regulatory requirements.
  • Experience reviewing sub-servicer reporting, performance metrics, and compliance testing.
  • Ability to interpret servicing data, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex servicing issues into clear and actionable feedback.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and analytical with strong problem solving skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong accounting and reconciliation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MSP (Black Knight) servicing system preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Ellie Mae Encompass preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring mortgage loans are serviced in compliance with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and following industry best practices.
  • Oversee and monitor sub-servicer performance, including loan administration and default administration activities.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews and testing of sub-servicer reports, metrics, and controls.
  • Support the company’s servicing oversight program by evaluating servicing policies, procedures, workflows, and internal controls.
  • Participate in monthly oversight calls with the sub-servicer to review performance results, compliance findings, and trends.
  • Assist with audit and regulatory exam support, including data gathering and document review.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support interim servicing functions and documentation of processes.
  • Research and resolve servicing issues, payment discrepancies, and servicing exceptions.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise to support customer service inquiries.
  • Analyze servicing data and trends to identify operational, compliance, or reputational risk.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
