About The Position

The Services Engagement Manager strengthens awareness of APH’s services, brand, and mission within the blindness and low vision community. This role serves as the primary liaison for APH service teams, aligning messaging, identifying customer needs, and driving engagement through strategic communications and positioning. The position plays a critical role in ensuring consistent, accessible, and impactful messaging across all service areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in writing, editing, and developing marketing or communications campaigns.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in marketing, digital, creative, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365, including accessible document creation best practices.
  • Note: A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered when competency in the role is demonstrated.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a museum or attraction environment.
  • Familiarity with structured workflows, documentation, and deadline-driven environments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Asana preferred).
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
  • Experience developing comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, adapt quickly, and remain effective under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Communications & Positioning
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications plans for APH services and programs, including:
  • Museum: The Dot Experience (opening October 2026).
  • Education: Regional Outreach, APH ConnectCenter, Hive Learning Management System, NIMAC, Louis, READS.
  • Awareness: Prison Braille Network, Braille Tales.
  • Advancement: Grants and Fundraising.
  • Align messaging across teams to ensure clarity, consistency, and audience relevance.
  • Project Management
  • Serve as the central project manager for communications, marketing, and creative initiatives.
  • Manage timelines, scopes, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Develop project plans, documentation, and status updates while mitigating risks.
  • Facilitate meetings, track action items, and ensure consistent forward progress.
  • Maintain clear communication across a high volume of projects and stakeholders.
  • Campaign Development
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute integrated, multi-channel campaigns (email, blogs, social media, webinars, podcasts, conferences).
  • Define campaign goals, target audiences, and strategic approaches.
  • Ensure consistent, targeted messaging across all channels.
  • Partner with the Digital Engagement team to develop social media content.
  • Creative & Accessibility Oversight
  • Provide creative direction for public-facing communications across print, digital, and video.
  • Ensure all communications meet APH’s accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Other Duties
