About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Services Cost Management Analyst to join our technology services organization. In this role, you will bridge accounting principles with data modeling, analysis, and technical solution design. You will leverage your strong foundation in financial concepts, relational data structures, and data tools to design effective solutions, extract actionable insights from large datasets, and support both internal operations and client-facing technology services. Success in this position requires the ability to translate business and accounting needs into robust technical designs while communicating findings clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data analytics, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • Experience with SQL and relational data structures.
  • Experience working with data analysis tools, including Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic computer code logic.
  • Experience building and editing Power BI dashboards and reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with relational database concepts, including normalization, Primary Keys, and Foreign Keys.
  • Experience creating, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.
  • Ability to translate business and accounting requirements into technical specifications or solution designs.
  • Familiarity with AI tools or experience applying AI in academic, project, or professional settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize technical or analytical findings for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Apply solid accounting knowledge—including double-entry accounting, proper distinction between Balance Sheet and Expense accounts, and recognition of correct accounting flows—to ensure data integrity and accurate financial reporting.
  • Design and implement relational data models aligned with accounting principles and business requirements, applying normalization concepts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd normal forms), Primary and Foreign Keys, and SQL-based query tools.
  • Identify opportunities to design and implement technical solutions that improve data structures, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency based on accounting best practices and organizational needs.
  • Perform advanced data mining and manipulation using Excel and other tools of choice; create, clean, and manage large datasets; build and edit Power BI dashboards and reports; and extract meaningful insights, trends, and issues from complex data.
  • Read and interpret basic computer code logic to support solution design, troubleshooting, and collaboration with technical teams.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for cost or process optimization within a technology services environment.
  • Summarize findings and recommendations in clear, concise communications and presentations; maintain a big-picture perspective and connect individual issues and analyses to the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and technology teams to deliver data-driven solutions that support service delivery, client projects, and internal financial processes.
