Service Writer Role The Service Writer is the face of DCI, ensuring customer support via phone, email, and in-person interactions. This role is pivotal in managing the service lifecycle—from initial quoting and upselling to providing real-time updates and finalizing billing.

Requirements

High School Diploma required
5+ years of experience in a similar service-oriented or industrial role.
Proficient in administrative tasks, time management, and organizational workflows.
A self-starter with exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a "customer-first" mentality.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for all inquiries.
Provide accurate quotes, identify opportunities for additional services, and maintain communication through final payment.
Generate detailed repair orders, conduct daily yard audits, and maintain shop logs to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
Serve as the vital link between Service Management and Technicians to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet quality standards.
Research, procure, and allocate parts according to job specifications.
Support the fabrication team by ensuring all necessary materials are staged and ready.
Manage technician timekeeping for weekly payroll submittal and track daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to be displayed within the facility.
Prepare and finalize shop invoices.
Maintain comprehensive job files, including all correspondence and approvals, to ensure prompt processing and payment.
