About The Position

Brown Equipment Company (BEC) is seeking a Service Writer / Parts Coordinator to join their team. This dual role involves assisting customers with equipment repairs, coordinating with mechanics, ordering parts, and ensuring efficient service operations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, enjoys problem-solving, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Experience in service writing, parts ordering, inventory, or a related role
Familiarity with automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or mechanical repair environments
Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite

Responsibilities

Serve as the main point of contact for customers needing equipment service or repairs.
Coordinate with mechanics and service leadership to schedule, track, and complete repair work.
Prepare service estimates and communicate repair recommendations, costs, and timelines to customers.
Manage service work orders from start to finish, ensuring accurate documentation of labor, parts, and repairs.
Keep customers updated on repair progress and answer questions throughout the service process.
Prepare customer invoices and assist with warranty repair documentation.
Identify and order parts needed for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Work closely with mechanics and service leadership to ensure the correct parts are ordered and available when needed.
Communicate with vendors regarding parts availability, pricing, and delivery timelines.
Track parts orders, follow up on backorders, and help minimize service delays.
Maintain accurate parts records and ensure parts are properly assigned to service work orders.
Assist with parts inventory organization and accuracy.
