About The Position

At Russell Stover, we are looking for individuals who embody our values of excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, responsibility, and collaboration. As a TEMP/SEASONAL Service Employee, you will be a crucial part of our chocolate production process during our 5-month, fast-paced, high-volume season. Your role will involve packaging, inspecting, and palletizing products to meet our high-quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, collaborating with team members, and participating in cross-functional training. This position is an excellent opportunity to potentially transition into a permanent role within the plant.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend twist and lift overhead.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for the duration of shift (10-12 hours).

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to read and understand basic math, rulers, tape measures, scales, and thermometers.
  • Ability to read and understand product specifications established by Russell Stover Chocolates and recognize deviations from those specifications.
  • Experience operating a scan gun.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment and tools in a safe and proficient manner according to company standards and guidelines.
  • Inspects, receives, delivers, secures, and maintains product (raw or finished) per Russell Stover Chocolates guidelines.
  • Inspects finished candy as it exits cooling tunnels; transfers candy from conveyor belt to trays and places trays in steels.
  • Monitors candy weight, seals and secures boxes, and transfers to pallets.
  • Maintains records, delivers, inspects, and performs all activities required of other members of the area, line or team.
  • Performs clean-up activities as assigned.
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
  • Completes and follows FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure consumer safety, and support the plant’s food safety and quality objectives.
  • Promptly reports and takes appropriate action on any observed or potential food safety hazards, process deviations, or non-conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor, in accordance with your role and responsibilities.
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role.
