Under the direct supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director, performs duties necessary to support the Parks and Recreation Department. This is a semi-skilled manual work position involving the maintenance and repair of the City’s Sports Complex. Essential Duties: Performs duties necessary to support the Recreation Division by coordinating City-wide and special events through achieving community awareness and involvement; assisting with the design and distribution of promotional materials; and cultivating essential partnerships with the general public and vendors. Responsible for the daily construction, repair and maintenance of the Sports Complex. Identifies and reports vandalism and safety concerns. Operates various landscaping equipment (e.g., mower, edger, weed eater, hedge trimmer, saw, etc.) Performs maintenance and minor repair of assigned equipment and tools. Respond to and try to fulfill any special event provisions. Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality. Develop, plan and handle City and partnered events held within the facility, which will include event decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material etc. Coordinates the appropriate set-up and tear down measures, and promotional displays (all mediums and outlets). Duties include conducting manning needs assessments, requests for street closures, public announcements, equipment rental, transportation requests and/or rental, and ensure events meet ADA accessibility requirements. Responsible for the safe, effective and efficient performance of assigned events. Performs additional duties as assigned.
