About The Position

This role offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus! $500 paid out after 30 days of employment, $500 paid out after 90 days of employment with Manheim! The Service Truck Operator is responsible for distributing and accurately recording gasoline disbursed in vehicles, entering fuel usage, starting vehicles, checking fuel gauges, marking vehicles that need fuel, and returning to fuel them. This role also involves reporting and recording auction gasoline levels, alerting the proper person to avoid running out of gasoline, and reporting inoperable vehicles or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor. Additionally, the operator will assist customers in locating vehicles, help with sale day duties as needed, and assist in audits of gasoline disbursement. A strong commitment to safety is essential, demonstrated by following all safety and health procedures and actively participating in safety activities. Other duties may be assigned by management. The position requires the operator to be exposed to the elements outdoors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • OR any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; OR 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute and accurately record gasoline disbursed in vehicles.
  • Enter fuel usage in AS400 via portable terminal (PT).
  • Start vehicles, check fuel gages, mark vehicles that need fuel, and return to fuel them.
  • Report and record Auction gasoline levels and alert proper person to avoid running out of gasoline in main fill area.
  • Report inoperable vehicles to Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
  • Report damage or malfunctioning equipment on vehicles (i.e., pumps, fuel trucks).
  • Assist customers in locating vehicles.
  • Assist in sale day duties as needed (i.e. drive, act as lane leader, jump start vehicles, etc.).
  • Assist in audits of gasoline disbursement when necessary.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
