This position involves being a technician supporting chemical applications and working with a local Solenis team at papermills in the Lynchburg area. In this position the employee will be trained to conduct lab testing, repair and install chemical feed equipment, input numbers into excel, inventory control, chemical transfers, and maintain a positive customer relationship.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • High safety awareness- Ability to complete safety training, follow safety policies and work in a safety-oriented manner
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment: short term exposure to hot and cold areas, industrial noise wearing ear protection (ear plugs), etc.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Plumbing/mechanical/electrical skills. Knowledge and ability in at least one these areas.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel)
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Team player.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine testing and monitoring at the customer site including data entry and will be expected to contribute to service report preparation
  • Interfaces with the customer to understand any issues with chemicals or equipment
  • Manages product inventory at the customer including deliveries and chemical transfers
  • Adjusts chemical feed levels to meet optimal chemical performance based on routine testing and monitoring
  • Alerts the account manager of any problems or opportunities with the customer and begins to troubleshoot issues
  • Conducts expanded testing of process variables to identify dosage improvements or mechanical impacts
  • Specs out, sets up, maintains and troubleshoots Solenis monitoring and feed equipment
  • Works with the local team and customers to ensure optimal program performance
